The Enduris oyster shucker is the successor to the knife that started Emergo Designs in 2014. An elegant custom made product that will give confidence while opening oysters! Make this knife even more personal by adding an engraving to the blade or to the luxury box.

Materials

A custom made knife out of RWL34 stainless steel and three different handle options. Paduk Wood, Juma artificial Ivory or Black composite. The sharp point of the knife can only be maintained because of the RWL34 steel. This pure Swedish powder steel is state of the art and very corrosion resistant. Powder steels are molten in a crucible without the influence of air. Therefore there are no air bubbles inside the steel and this makes it less prone to breaking. That’s why it’s a superb steel for opening tough oysters.

Included with your knife

- The wooden case
- Certificate of Authenticity
- Manual
- Protective oil
- Microfiber cloth

Customize as a gift

My company Emergo Designs makes all the knives 100% inhouse in the Netherlands. Therefore we can customize to make this oyster shucker a perfect gift or memento. For instance for a wedding, graduation or retirement.

We can laser engrave logo’s, text or dates in the case. This makes for a personal touch combined with an amazing gift. Please select the option for engraving during checkout. And I will contact you with a design proposal.

The knife also comes with a booklet with the name of the receiving person. We make each knife special for the lucky receiving person and aim for perfection. It’s all in the little details!

Juma Artificial Ivory Handle

With modern material comes the possibility to do the right thing. Knives and ivory go back for centuries. It was a beloved material to work with and it had an unique look. Fortunately, in the modern world Ivory is banned to preserve Elephants and Rhinos. The German firm Elforyn has created an artificial ivory called Juma. It has the same white colour and has that chic appearance, but in a modern and eco-friendly material. The aesthetic of the knife pairs perfectly with delicious oysters. Artificial ivory can endure many shucking sessions and remains grippy when wet.
The knife itself is very ergonomically. The large handle gives good grip and control. This allows the user to easily enter the oyster with less risk for the hand that is holding the oyster.

Traditional and modern

It has a mosaic handle pin that symbolizes a ”Zeeuwse knoop”: a traditional local symbol of decoration. It is well know in the province of ”Zeeland” where my family has been growing and fishing oysters for over 100 years. The handle pin combines a traditional element with the clean and elegant design of the knife.

  • A Numbered Edition

I engrave the shuckers number on each blade. This makes it extra special since we are not making many pieces a year.

  • Packaging Matters

All the knives have their own unique wooden box. The wood is harvested local to us and we saw, plane, mill, sand and oil in house.
